- The beauty of the human interaction, how small this may be, fulfills the basis of the work of Marèl Jap-Sam. She draws from her own experiences and those of her direct surroundings and tries to make a little piece of life more transparent. Using several mediums, both analog and digital she creates fantasia elements, which accompany the roughness of life and attempt to make their meaning bigger then how they were first perceived. Born the 6th of January 1989 at Amstelveen and after a lot of wandering she has found her basis in Rotterdam. Graduated at the Willem the Kooning academy, class of 2011. Graduated with `Broertje' (English title ‘Brother of mine’) and the interactive installation `WHO are you' she is currently working in Education programming and working on her first feature film. www.mareljapsam.com
